Workshop Location
The workshop will take place in
Kilpisjärvi Biological Station, located approximately 2.7 degrees north of the Arctic Circle. The closest airport is situated in Kittilä, a town in about 275km south-east. Kittilä airport (airport code: KTT) is well connected with Helsinki airport (airport code: HEL), as well as with several other big European airports.
The transfer between Kittilä and Kilpisjärvi will be made by a shuttle bus, organized by us, which is free for all of the participants. On Monday, January 4, 2027, the bus will leave from the Kittilä airport at 16:00, and on Saturday, January, 9, 2027, the bus will leave from Kilpisjärvi station at 9:00. The estimated bus travel is 4–5 hours according to the bus company; please book your plane tickets accordingly.
In case the shuttle bus is not an option for you, taxi services operating between Kittilä and Kilpisjärvi may be available. These services must be reserved in advance. Notice that public transport operates only once per day, see
